Problems of the Internet
Problems of the internet,
They run wide and they run deep.
Privacy, security, data’s lost or corrupt,
“No worries there!” shouts one very ambitious geek.
“I like my commerce mixed with phony news and porn,
Tucked behind blockchain’s fake pay-wall.”
Muffles Nakamoto-san,
Holding your own data, “Dude — that’s not done for all.”
You see the data you create,
It’s right here written in the code.
We share it for a profit, son,
“Haven’t you been told?”
Payola scheme’s frenetic pace,
Grows byte by terabyte.
Misinformed citizens staring at their feet,
Consent ungiven to the mass surveillance bird’s flight.
Lots of good data there,
Amongst the complacent masses.
Scrolling for pics and content,
Sifting info tales and stories, sculpting very fine flat asses.
Cambridge Analytica, Facebook, privacy infringed,
Google that.
Misinformation targets fractures — splinters taking root,
Silicon Valley cats lay sunning, purring and growing fat.
